Kylian Mbappé is already making an impact in LALIGA

Kylian Mbappé is up and running in LALIGA EA SPORTS, having scored his first goals in the competition on Sunday. The Frenchman netted two goals to help Real Madrid earn a 2-0 win over Real Betis, their second victory of the domestic season. After he pounced in the penalty area to score his first goal in the Spanish top division, he converted his second from the penalty spot after an act of generosity from Vinícius, who allowed Mbappé to take the spot kick that the Brazilian had won. 

The Frenchman had been seeking that first goal throughout the first three rounds of the campaign, but was unlucky and came up against some very solid defences. However, he made his breakthrough in Matchday 4, in front of the Real Madrid fans. Making his goals all the more memorable was the fact that Los Blancos needed these three points, having only managed a draw in midweek when they visited UD Las Palmas at the Estadio Gran Canaria. 

Sunday’s match was a duel between two of the top teams in Spain, as Real Betis regularly qualify for European competitions. Their meetings are always competitive and entertaining, and that was the case again this weekend. Both teams gave their all and each had chances to take the lead, before Mbappé broke the deadlock. 

Mbappé had some chances in the first half of the game and, when he couldn’t take those, the pressure on him to score increased. Then, in the second half, he was able to etch his name onto the scoreboard in the 67th minute, pouncing on a superb backheel pass from Fede Valverde to finish past Rui Silva with poise. That gave him a confidence boost and he played some of his best football in a Real Madrid shirt. 

Less than 10 minutes after his first goal, the forward scored again as he cooly converted a penalty that had been won by Vinícius. The Brazilian had taken and scored a spot kick in the previous match, but here he gave the ball to his new teammate so that he could add to his tally and gain even more confidence. The Frenchman made the most of the opportunity, scoring his second goal of the game. When he was later substituted off for Luka Modrić, the crowd at the Santiago Bernabéu gave him an ovation, excited at how Mbappé was up and running in LALIGA EA SPORTS.
