Villarreal CF land in Australia

At 7:00 local time (23:00 in Spain) Villarreal’s expedition touched down in Australia to kick off the La Liga World tour. After a long journey, the Yellow Submarine are now in Australian territory, where they will play two friendly games, against Adelaide United (29 May, 12:00 Spanish time) and Brisbane Roar (3 June, 11:00 Spanish time).

In the first stage of the tour, the expedition will stay at the Intercontinental Adelaide Hotel, where centre-back Víctor Ruiz appeared very happy to enjoy a new adventure after the team finished the season in sixth place, sealing their place in the UEFA Europa League. “We had a great season and achieved the objective the club set out. Now is the time to enjoy ourselves,” said the Catalan defender.

During their stay in Australia, Marcelino’s side have several events scheduled ahead of their game against Adelaide United at the Coopers Stadium. Players Antonio Rukavina and Bruno Soriano and coach Marcelino García Toral will speak to the press ahead of the eagerly awaited first match of the La Liga World in Australia.
