Their youth (they were both born in 1994) has meant they have had to overcome the difficulties of football with skills and perfect passing. Denis Suárez and Gerard Deulofeu, friends since childhood, are exponents of quick-passing football and future stars of the world game.

The two young hopefuls left FC Barcelona last summer and are now enjoying success at Sevilla FC, where they have been charged with the mountainous task of leading the team to the UEFA Champions League spots.

"We are excited for Denis and Deulofeu to grow with Sevilla", said Emery once. And his predictions have come true. So much so that both players have matured enormously with a team that had the tough task of exceeding the success of last season. However, with a touch of enthusiasm, youth and class, they are on track to do just that.

The club is fourth in the Liga BBVA with 29 points and just two defeats. The dream start is partly thanks to the duo who form the 'Double D': Denis and Deulofeu have established themselves, in just three months, as the perfect partnership, contributing passes, goals and, above all, assists.

They have one goal each in the first 14 games, but their greatest asset is their interplay with their teammates. The player from Pontevedra, who has played 890 minutes in 13 matches, has provided three assists, while the striker from Girona has set up four goals. It is an enviable statistic that is only within reach of very few players, who understand the game as they do.

Products of the Barcelona youth academy, Denis Suárez and Deulofeu left the Azulgranas this summer to form part of Emery's new project. The manager put his faith in them from the word go. "Deulofeu is explosive and he contributes a lot of positive things", stated a convinced Sevilla manager after the arrival of the player who now plays second fiddle in thestrikeforce only to Carlos Bacca.

The harmony and sound understanding with the boss is reflected on the pitch and neither of the two players is shy about thanking their coach for his commitment to them. "I am very grateful to Emery and the club", Denis Suárez has repeated on numerous occasions throughout his four months in the Andalusian city.

But this is just the start of what could be a passionate adventure. The midfielder joined the club as part of the deal between Barcelona and Sevilla for Ivan Rakitić and will also play on loan next season. This will provide more than enough time for him to become the player who pulls the strings from the middle of the pitch. Deulofeu, after spells with Barcelona B, Everton FC and on loan in the Sánchez-Pizjuán this season, has the chance to continue improving and become of the keys to making this Sevilla side the best ever.
