A delegation from the KBO (South Korea's professional baseball league) has visited the headquarters of LALIGA Spain for the first time to exchange know-how with the Spanish football competition. The collaboration between the two leagues has been particularly fruitful due to the synergies that exist in sports management and innovation in both sports. In addition, the delegation was received by the president of LALIGA, Javier Tebas, who exchanged impressions with the president of KBO.
The KBO executives, led by its commissioner Goo-yeon Huh, held several meetings with executives from different areas of LALIGA to share knowledge and explore new possibilities. KBO held these meetings at LALIGA headquarters during its visit to Prague Baseball Week.
There are several areas of work where the Spanish entity is a global example. KBO highlighted his interest in learning first-hand how LALIGA is working on its internationalisation and audiovisual strategy, and in particular the measures it is taking to combat piracy. LALIGA is a pioneer in the fight against fraud, where it has become a global leader by using technology and artificial intelligence to detect audiovisual fraud. The organisation has a multidisciplinary team dedicated exclusively to this problem.
"We are very proud of the close relationship between the South Korean and Spanish sports industries. These types of visits bring Spanish football closer to different sports in the Korean industry where there are synergies for mutual learning and a great potential for the exchange of experiences. LALIGA is highly valued for its internationalisation work and its audiovisual strategy outside Spain and there are many entities that are interested in knowing first-hand how it works in different areas," said Sangwon Seo, delegate of LALIGA in South Korea.
The partnership between LALIGA and South Korea is historically very strong, and in the past youth teams from clubs such as FC Seoul, Ulsan Hyundai or Jeonbuk Hyundai have played against youth teams from clubs such as Atlético de Madrid or CD Leganés. For their part, LALIGA youth teams have been invited to participate in international tournaments in South Korea. In addition, LALIGA has had a collaboration agreement for years with the K LEAGUE, with which it has carried out different actions in recent years.
