Eduardo Berizzo's RC Celta will be looking to turn things around after six straight defeats and seven consecutive matches without finding the net. They will face Valencia CF, a side in the UEFA Champions League spots who have just beaten the Liga BBVA leaders.
Team news
Both sides are missing important players for the match. For Celta, Eduardo Berizzo will have to make do without several of his men: the suspended Gustavo Cabral, Joaquín Larrivey and Carles Planas, the injured Borja Oubiña, and Lévy Madinda, who is with Gabon in the African Cup of Nations.
Valencia player Sofiane Feghouli will not be in the Balaídos for the same reason; he is already with the Algerian national side. Nuno Espírito Santo will not be able to call upon the services of José Luis Gayà, who is suspended or the injured Pablo Piatti, while João Pereira, Robert Ibáñez and Bruno Zuculini have been left out.
Views from the dugout
Berizzo was full of praise for his opponents: "They are a great team with very big players in their squad, great forwards, a very good midfield and a solid defence".
For Nuno Espírito Santo the current situation of the team from Vigo is not a reflection of the way they play football: "The three points are important and necessary; we are going to go to a difficult ground and fight for them. Celta play well, they haven't had good results but they have the idea of a dynamic game, they pressure and their results do not reflect the good football they play".
