This Christmas, LALIGA and the clubs are launching a charitable initiative in collaboration with food banks across Spain to support people in vulnerable situations. Now in its seventh consecutive year, the initiative is being carried out in partnership with city councils and local entities, and will reach more than 115 food banks in 42 cities. Over the festive season, LALIGA will distribute more than 23,000 meals, with special menus planned for key dates such as Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, and Epiphany. In addition, nearly 28,000 scarves and hats will be donated to those attending the participating food banks.

Thanks to this initiative, more than 20,000 people will benefit from the contributions made by LALIGA and the clubs during the festive period. The initiative is driven by the LALIGA FOUNDATION and forms part of the broader set of social actions that LALIGA and the clubs carry out throughout the year.

“LALIGA and our clubs continue working to support those most in need, especially at such meaningful times as Christmas,” stated Javier Tebas, President of LALIGA. Olga de la Fuente, Director of the LALIGA FOUNDATION, added: “This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of LALIGA and the clubs to supporting those in the most vulnerable situations, reinforcing the role of football as a social agent.”

With this initiative, LALIGA continues to harness the power of football to promote values such as solidarity and social cohesion. The LALIGA FOUNDATION's commitment is expressed through a wide range of initiatives and projects that promote social inclusion, such as LALIGA GENUINE Moeve; value-based education through football, with Futura Afición and DXT para la vida; and equal opportunities and support for disadvantaged communities, both in Spain and internationally. This includes projects such as the LALIGA Za’atari & Azraq Social Project (Jordan) and La Ligue d'Égalité (Cameroon, South Africa, and Morocco). Throughout the season, LALIGA works hand in hand with clubs, public administrations, and social organisations to generate a positive and lasting impact, using sport, especially football, as a tool for social transformation.
