Jan Oblak wins LALIGA EA SPORTS Best Save of the Month award for October

Jan Oblak has received the award for Best Save in LALIGA EA SPORTS in October. The Atlético de Madrid goalkeeper was once again key for his team during the last month, especially in this match against CA Osasuna, which ended in a 1-0 victory for the Rojiblancos and in which the Slovenian shone with his saves.

In the 89th minute of the match, Atlético were winning 1-0 when Oblak stepped in to save his team. Moi Gómez broke into the Atlético area, passed the ball to his left to Ante Budimir, and the Slovenian goalkeeper made a superb save to deflect Budimir's close-range shot for a corner. This save secured Atlético's 1-0 victory.

Atlético Madrid's number 13 wins the Best Save of LALIGA EA SPORTS award for the first time this season after beating Aarón Escandell (Real Oviedo) and Marko Dmitrovic (RCD Espanyol) in the final vote.

Oblak, who already won this same trophy in October last season, succeeds Sergio Herrera, who won this award in September. Oblak's save in October last year was ultimately chosen as the best save of the 2024/25 season.
