CD Leganés and RCD Espanyol will battle to avoid the final relegation spot

Just two clubs remain at risk of suffering relegation down to LALIGA HYPERMOTION.

THU 22.05.2025

With just one matchday remaining in the 2024/25 LALIGA EA SPORTS season, the relegation battle remains fascinating. Although bottom-placed Real Valladolid and second-bottom UD Las Palmas have already been relegated, the race to avoid finishing 18th continues and either CD Leganés or RCD Espanyol will be returning to LALIGA HYPERMOTION just one year after promotion.

RCD Espanyol (17th, 39 points)

RCD Espanyol have lost five matches in a row, which means they are still at serious risk of relegation entering the final matchday. The good news is that they have a winnable game at home against an already-relegated side, although that is the exact same scenario as CD Leganés. The fans of Los Pericos will try to cheer the team to their first victory in over a month.

Remaining fixture: UD Las Palmas (H)

CD Leganés (18th, 37 points)

In the case of CD Leganés, they have won two of their past three matches to give themselves some hope of staying in Spain’s top division. With a home game against a very poor Real Valladolid side, there will be plenty of optimism at the Estadio Butarque this Saturday. If CD Leganés win and if RCD Espanyol fail to win, that is the formula to stay up.

Remaining fixture: Real Valladolid (H)
