RC Celta and Real Betis will face off this Wednesday night, in a Matchday 6 fixture which has been brought forward due to both clubs participating in this season’s Europa League. It’ll be a fascinating duel, given that both these teams are known for wanting to dominate possession and play attacking football. This is also an interesting match because Borja Iglesias will take on his former club, where played some of his best football in LALIGA EA SPORTS, even winning a trophy.

The Galician striker played 181 times for Real Betis, scoring 52 goals and providing 12 assists in total. In LALIGA EA SPORTS specifically, he represented Los Verdiblancos 142 times and netted 39 goals while setting up seven more. During his time in Seville, Iglesias celebrated a Copa del Rey triumph as well as three European qualifications, so he became a fan favourite among many Béticos.

After moving to RC Celta on loan last season, the striker completed a permanent move to the Galician club this past off-season. He has scored 11 goals in 41 appearances since rejoining his boyhood club and has been an important player in attack, offering a variety of tactical options to the coaching staff thanks to his ability to lose his marker and free up space. His skill in putting the ball in the back of the net has been key too, so he is a real threat for the Real Betis defenders this weekend.

Two teams with similar philosophies will meet at the Estadio ABANCA Balaídos

RC Celta and Real Betis are two teams who both play with high lines while employing an attacking brand of football. They send a lot of players forward and towards the opposition penalty area. This worked well for both teams last season, as Real Betis finished sixth and RC Celta came in seventh.

So far in the 2025/26 campaign, Real Betis have four points after drawing against Elche CF and then defeating Deportivo Alavés 1-0 last matchday. As for RC Celta, it has been a more frustrating start, as the Galicians have lost at home to Getafe CF and drawn 1-1 away at RCD Mallorca.

Even at this early stage of the season, this Wednesday night’s game is a big one, and it’ll be fascinating to see who comes out on top.
