Atlético Madrid and Levante UD will want to get off to a good start in 2015. To do so they will fight for a victory, which in the case of the Rojiblancos will move them closer to the top of the table, while for the Granotas it will mean climbing out of the relegation zone.

Team news
Diego Simeone, the Rojiblancos boss, has all his players available to him for this first game of the year in the Liga BBVA. His counterpart in the visitors’ dugout, Lucas Alcaraz, will be without two of his key men: centre back David Navarro, through suspension, and forward Rubén García, suffering from a fever.

Simeone urged his team’s fans to go to the Vicente Calderón Stadium to support the Rojiblancos in their bid for the Liga BBVA, as they did in 2014: "We'd like to have a full stadium and we invite our loyal supporters to be present where we had a lot of joy last year".

"They're very demanding opponents, especially at their stadium, but that should serve as motivation. We have to perform to a high standard, both individually and as a team, and stick to our guns", said Lucas Alcaraz, the Levante manager, in the lead-up to his side's encounter with the Atlético.
