Just hours after landing in Agadir, Sevilla FC have already won the hearts of local football fans. The Spanish club’s training session ahead of their LaLiga World match tomorrow brought with it some very special guests, as children from the Moroccan city were able to realise a dream: meeting and posing for photographs with their idols – footballers who star for one of the top sides in Europe.
That was how the evening got underway for the Sevilla FC, players, who put smiles on the faces of children from the football school run by Hassania Union Sport d'Agadir. The Grand Stade was the stage for one of the most moving moments of the trip - for the players themselves too. Coke was among the squad members who most enjoyed themselves, moving to underline that "a little goes a long way for footballers in terms of making many people happy, particularly children".
In the press conference that saw the presentation of Sevilla's clash against Union Sport D’Agadir, held as part of LaLiga World, coach Unai Emery and players Fernando Navarro and Vicente Iborra spoke to the media. Amid immense excitement and anticipation among the local press, Emery reflected on the great work that LaLiga is doing to gain international market presence over other leagues. Sevilla captain Navarro was categorical in his assessment of the match, emphasising that there is no such thing as a friendly for los hispalenses.
The LaLiga World fixture will take place tomorrow at 8pm Spanish time. Union Sport provide the Europa League winners’ final challenge before finishing what has proved a memorable season for the Andalusians.
