Christian Stuani and Luis Suárez will meet this weekend on matchday 33 in the Liga BBVA. The two Uruguayan strikers, both 28 years old, will be the reference points in attack for both their teams, RCD Espanyol and FC Barcelona, in the Barcelona derby. Stuani has played more matches but fewer minutes than Luis Suárez, who is a protagonist in Luis Enrique’s side.
Stuani will be playing at home. The Uruguayan striker of Espanyol has scored nine goals this season, each of them from inside the area. He has scored five times with his right foot —twice from the penalty spot —once with his left and three times from headers. His last goal was against Sevilla FC on matchday 21, the last match in which he played 90 minutes. The Uruguayan has played 31 matches this season, but has only started 12 matches, going some 1300 minutes without providing an assist.

Luis Suárez meanwhilehas scored 11 goals this season, just one from outside the area. Nine of his goals have been scored with his favoured foot, the right, and another two with his left, while he is yet to score in the league with his head. His last goal game in Barcelona’s last league match, against Valencia CF. He has played 23 games, all apart from one as a starter, and has played 1800 minutes and provided nine assists.
Neither of the two players are the top scorers for their teams, but they have provided vital goals for their sides. In addition, they do so much else for their sides, such as luring opposition centre-backs and and creating more space for their attacking team-mates.
The Barcelona player Luis Suárez has taken almost double the shots as his compatriot Stuani, with 55 attempts on goal compared to the 28 from Espanyol. Both players however have remarkable shooting accuracy. Suárez hits the target with half of his shots, while Stuani hits the target with 60% of his shots. The Power8 Stadium will be the stage for a deal between these two strikers who could help decide the match for their team.
