Levante and Elche end the season with a draw at Ciutat de València

Levante UD and Elche CF ended the season with a 0-0 draw at the Estadio Ciutat de València in a game where Diego Mariño prevented a goal from the visitors on several occasions. Granada end the season on 38 points and Elche finish on 42.

Both sides went into the last day of the season having secured survival, so the game was relaxed, with chances for both sides. The home side were first to give an early warning, as they looked for a goal through José Luis Morales with a shot that went over the bar in the 11’ minute. Five minutes later the visitors responded with a move led by Aarón Ñíguez that ended with a shot by Víctor Rodríguez at the body of the goalkeeper Diego Mariño. After that frenetic start, the game gradually slowed down and the score remained at 0-0.

Elche could have gone ahead in the second half, had it not been for Aarón Ñíguez missing a penalty with almost an hour on the clock. That chance encouraged the visitors and Cristian Herrera also tried to get a goal, but Mariño was once again decisive in the one-on-one. Although Levante wanted to react, time ticked on and the score remained at 0-0 as both sides ended the 2014-2015 season.
