With another matchday full of goals, skills and thrills now behind us, it is time to see how the action played out on the LaLiga Fantasy MARCA front.
They say that variety is the spice of life and the members of the latest Best XI would surely agree with this sentiment. Players from a total of six different clubs made the lineup: Atletico Madrid, RCD Espanyol, Villarreal CF, Real Madrid, SD Eibar and RC Celta.
The Player of the Matchday gong goes to centre-back Alvaro Gonzalez, whose goal, assist and clean sheet against Granada CF earned him 21 points, enough not only to be the weekend's outstanding figure in LaLiga Fantasy MARCA land, but also to surpass the game's record score for a defender, set just last matchday by Sergio Ramos. Taking their places in defence alongside the Villarreal man are Espanyol's Marc Navarro (15 points), plus Madrid's Raphael Varane and Eibar defender Florian Lejeune, who amassed 14 points apiece. This four-man backline shields Atletico's Miguel Angel Moya, whose 10-point display sees him get the nod between the sticks.
The leading light in the midfield quintet is Los Blancos' Mateo Kovacic, who bagged an impressive 18 points in his side's win over Real Sociedad. Joining the Croatian in the middle of the park are Adrian Gonzalez, Bruno Soriano, Jose Antonio Reyes and Pablo Hernandez, all of whom racked up 14 points. As for the forward line, there was only one standout performer, with the 16 points picked up by Eibar striker Sergi Enrich enough to see him lead the line.
