Playing in ElClasico is a dream come true for many of the promising youngsters on the books at Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Just like BKT Tires, these young stars of world football will be seeking to shine in the biggest sporting event on the planet.

If we take a look at their squads, both sides have a large number of players under the age of 23 who are either starring in the first team now or will be doing so in the not-too-distant future. Here, we take a look at these future stars who have already made an impressive start to this campaign.

Young forwards in ElClasico

Neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid are short on excellent attackers, some of whom will surely set the world of football on fire in the years to come. Real Madrid’s forward line is populated by some dazzling Brazilian youngsters. For example, Vinicius Junior who, despite being only 21, is one of the most outstanding footballers not only at his club but in the league as a whole. Vinicius has nailed down a starting berth in Carlo Ancelotti's side and will be keen to use his pace, dribbling and derring-do to make a statement in ElClasico at the Nou Camp. Fellow forward and compatriot Rodrygo Silva is cut from the same cloth and, one year his junior, is a talent to look out for in the future. Another young attacker who may get some game time is 23-year-old Serbian striker Luka Jovic. He hasn’t featured a lot so far this season, but ElClasico could be his opportunity to shine.

Meanwhile, Ronald Koeman's FC Barcelona also has some promising attackers in the shape of two 18-year-olds. Firstly, one to keep an eye out for and one of the revelations of the season is young Austrian Yusuf Demir. Despite his tender years, Demir has managed to find his way into Koeman’s plans and may well make his first ever appearance in ElClasico. Secondly, there’s a more familiar face in Ansu Fati, who is back from a long-term injury and is keen to become one of the leading lights in his team. He has already made his mark in this fixture, having become the youngest player ever to score in ElClasico last season.

Young midfielders in ElClasico

Since coming in, Ronald Koeman has given many chances to youngsters at the club, one of them being Pedri. The young Canarian midfielder was one of Barça’s most memorable performers in the 2020/21 season and could prove to be important in the next ElClasico. There’s also Gavi, fresh off the La Masia production line. The 17-year-old midfielder has been one of the players of the season so far in LaLiga, having come from out of nowhere. Another youngster we can’t fail to mention is Nico Gonzalez, who also made his debut this campaign aged 19 and is set to make his ElClasico bow along with his aforementioned teammates. Riqui Puig is a name which shouldn’t go forgotten either. He’s only 22 and could well make an impact in this game.

Real Madrid boast Fede Valverde amongst their ranks who, at the age of 23, is already one of Los Blancos’ most important assets. Newcomer Eduardo Camavinga is set to feature alongside the Uruguayan, and the 18-year-old Frenchman joined the club precisely to star in encounters like these. Another fresh face who may be seen in the centre of the park is Antonio Blanco, a 21-year-old defensive midfielder who has everything it takes to become a fixture in Los Blancos’ midfield.

Young defenders in ElClasico

When it comes to the defence, there’s no doubt that, in terms of promising youngsters, it’s Barcelona who have the upper hand. The Catalans have a number of under-23s who could shine in this game, such as centre-backs Óscar Mingueza - who scored in the last ElClasico - Ronald Araujo, and Eric García, and full-backs Alex Balde and Sergiño Dest. Meanwhile, Real have Eder Militao, who’s carved a niche for himself at the club, and young left-back Miguel Gutierrez, a recent addition from the academy who is known for his precise crossing ability.

Young goalkeepers in ElClasico

Real Madrid and FC Barcelona currently have two of the best stoppers in world football in the form of Thibaut Courtois and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen. However, both teams have young goalkeepers waiting in the wings who’ll surely go on to become starters in the future. Los Blancos’ number two is Andriy Lunin while Barça’s backup between the sticks is Iñaki Peña, both of whom are 22 years old.
