RC Deportivo and Córdoba CF meet at 8 pm on Wednesday on matchday 30 of the Liga BBVA. The Galicians, who play at home, will attempt to earn some breathing space in the battle against relegation, with just one point separating them from the drop zone. Meanwhile, los verdiblancos are eight points from safety and will be looking for a win to lift their hopes of survival.

Víctor Fernández will have to contend with significant absences, particularly in midfield. The Deportivo coach will be unable to call on Iván Cavaleiro and Lucas Pérez due to suspension, in addition to the injured Wilk, Hélder Postiga and Diogo Salomão. However, he welcomes back Alberto Lopo for the clash. Visiting boss José Antonio Romero is without Iago Bouzón and Fede Vico through injury, and has left Antonio López Silva, Deivid, Daniel Pinillos, Patrick Ekeng and Nabil Ghilas out of his squad.

Laure, one of Depor’s longest-serving players, called for more from his team-mates: "We have to improve; we have to demand a lot more from ourselves. We’ve got to take that step in the right direction and I hope it’s definitive." Córdoba chief Romero declared that the match is "another opportunity, a cup final" and added that his side must play "with intensity and manage the play well at all times".
