A total of 16 LaLiga 1|2|3 outfits made sure the closing of the transfer window was rather eventful, with more than 20 players moving on 31 January, as clubs looked to boost their squads for the remaining chunk of the season and beyond. AD Alcorcon, R. Oviedo, CD Tenerife, UD Almeria, CD Lugo and Elche CF were all involved in late deals, ensuring the final minutes leading up to the deadline were full of excitement.
Alcorcon were one of the clubs who left it late on deadline day, with Marko Bakic joining from SC Braga in a loan deal. R. Oviedo also did some business at the eleventh hour to strengthen the midfield department, bringing in Borja Dominguez and Carlos de Pena.
Cordoba CF decided to dip into the transfer market to sign Sergio Aguza from Alcorcon and Argentine defender Mariano Bittolo, while Tenerife focused on reinforcements who could add quality and experience to the squad, opting for Algerian midfielder Rachid and Japan international Gaku Shibasaki.
Almeria's January dealings also caught the eye, with two foreign stars joining the ranks in the shape of Italian free agent Marco Motta and French midfielder Karim Yoda, who made the move from Getafe CF and has a wealth of LaLiga 1|2|3 experience to call upon.
Many other familiar faces moved around the division, while others took the step down from LaLiga Santander. Chuli swapped the colours of Getafe for Almeria, while Kike Sola will be keen to get among the goals for CD Numancia, having sealed a loan move from Athletic Club. Ukrainian forward Roman Zozulya joined Rayo Vallecano and R. Valladolid CF secured a loan deal for midfielder Cristian Espinoza from Villarreal CF.
