Málaga CF closed out Saturday's action in the Liga BBVA with a victory against Getafe CF. Following the game, the Andalusian side stay in seventh on 41 points; the team from the south of Madrid are currently in 14th place with 26 points.
Málaga went into the game with spirits high following the win against FC Barcelona. The Camp Nou hero, Juanmi Jiménez, once again played a vital role for his side, scoring in the 10th minute after a cross from Roberto Rosales. With the goal advantage, the Andalusian side drew back, this meant that Getafe were able to attack the goal defended by Carlos Kamenia with greater ease. The speed of Getafe's attackers created various dangerous moves led by Samu Castillejo and Juanmi. The Madrid side kept putting on the pressure and forced an error from Kameni with a pass that was intercepted, however the ball from Pedro León went to a rival defender. Álvaro Vázquez, could also have levelled the scores with a volley.
Following the restart, the visitors cranked up the gears and their pressure and dominance increased. The reward for this good form from Getafe was a goal in the 55' minute. Pedro León swung a ball in to the six yard box where an unmarked Álvaro Vázquez scored. The home side took two minutes to respond and they did so with a spectacular goal from Sergi Darder, who got his third of the season with a cracking strike from over 20 metres out.
With the lead once again, Málaga played their best football, as was the case with Samu Castillejo in the move for 3-1. The reserve player had some great play inside the area and provided an assist to Ricardo Horta, who increased the lead with an acrobatic shot. Fifteen minutes from the end, Álvaro Vázquez scored again and added excitement to a game that ended 3-2.
