Saturday's first game in round 24 of Liga BBVA fixtures saw an upset at the Camp Nou as Málaga CF saw off FC Barcelona 0-1.
The Andalusian side took the lead after seven minutes, and held on for the victory in one of their best games of the season. After great team play, a defensive error from Barcelona saw Juanmi beat Claudio Bravo to the ball to put the visitors ahead. Luis Enrique's side tried to get back into the game with Rafinha pulling the strings in midfield, however they created few chances, and it was Málaga who enjoyed the game's better chances before half time.
The second half was like the first. Although Barcelona were more incisive and dominated possession more than they did in the first period, Sergi Darder created danger on more than one occasion. Barcelona attempted to find a way past Carlos Kameni right up to the end with Neymar and Pedro having chances, however try as they might they could not get back into the game. Málaga held on to take three points with what was an exercise in bravery and patience.
