Matchday 24 of the Liga BBVA begins with the game between Getafe CF and RCD Espanyol. The Madrid side, who are 15th in the league, will be looking for a win to move away from the danger zone. The Catalans, in 8th place, will be aiming for another away victory following a win on the last matchday at La Rosaleda.
Squads
Espanyol travel without their captain Sergio García due to injury and without Víctor Sánchez and Diego Colotto who are both banned. Quique Sánchez Flores, the Getafe coach, will be without Diego Castro, who received his fifth yellow card in the last league game. Also, Roberto Lago, Ángel Lafita, Karim Yoda and Baba Diawara are unavailable due to injury.
Thoughts of the coaches
Sergio González, the Espanyol coach, has a cautious approach towards the rival: “They look more confident now. They have made a bit of a change with the defensive line and two players in clear midfield roles with more freedom to attack. We have to be attentive, because they will at least create dangerous chances”. For Sánchez Flores "all matches are now worth more than three points. We are entering a point in the league where there is less room for error and every game is important”.
