The spoils were shared between the two newly promoted sides who played out a real footballing spectacle filled with emotion at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. Sevilla At. took to the pitch in search of an early goal, but the visitors' resolute defending held firm. UCAM opened the scoring in the second half through Jesus Imaz, but Jose Angel Carrillo drew the hosts level with an impressive overhead kick with just over 10 minutes left on the clock.
Cordoba CF 3-3 CD Lugo
El Arcangel played host to a goal fest, which Cordoba's Rodri Rios kicked off with a fine effort in the 20th minute, before Antonio Campillo equalised for Lugo on the verge of half-time. The second half followed the same pattern, with Rodri grabbing another goal, this time from the penalty spot. Lugo dug in and turned the score around through Joselu (61) and Ignasi Miquel (77), but Cordoba had the last word, with a Juli penalty levelling it up in stoppage time.
CD Mirandes 3-2 Cadiz CF
An enthralling match took place on Saturday afternoon at Anduva. Cadiz struck first in the seventh minute through Alfredo Ortuño, with Salvi doubling the visitors' advantage with a calm finish. Iñigo Eguaras cut the arrears in the second half from the penalty spot, as the home side ramped up the pressure. Maikel Mesa then equalised in the 55th minute before Iker Guarrotxena notched a dramatic winner 10 minutes later.
R. Valladolid CF 2-1 Girona FC
R. Valladolid chalked up another victory and kept up their unbeaten start to the LaLiga 1|2|3 campaign. Igor Lichnovsky played a key role in the fixture, taking just three minutes to open the scoring with his first goal for the hosts. Only 10 minutes had gone by when Jaime Mata doubled the advantage from the penalty spot. Borja Garcia halved the deficit in the second half, but all three points stayed in Valladolid.
UD Almeria 3-0 Rayo Vallecano
Almeria recorded their first win of the season by convincingly dispatching Rayo at the Juegos del Mediterraneo stadium. Two of their three goals came just before the interval, with Antonio Puertas pouncing in the 42nd minute and Ramon Azeez notching the second on the stroke of half-time. Fidel added some gloss to the scoreline in the second half.
Getafe CF 1-1 CF Reus
Reus maintained their undefeated start, with the newly promoted side racking up one win and two draws in their first three league fixtures. The Catalan outfit took the lead through an Edgar Hernandez penalty, but Jorge Molina levelled it up for Getafe, and so the points were shared at the Coliseum.
Elche CF 3-1 CD Tenerife
An early Pablo Hervias goal was the ideal start for the home side and although Tenerife huffed and puffed throughout the first half, Alberto Toril's team performed better and even had chances to extend their lead before the break. The islanders made a fast start to the second half and equalised through Omar Perdomo, who gobbled up the rebound after his penalty was parried, but goals by Pedro Rios and Hugo Fraile settled the match.
CD Numancia 1-1 AD Alcorcon
David Rodriguez scored his 100th goal in the second tier to put the Madrilenians ahead practically straight from kick-off, but they failed to capitalise on their storming start to take all three points away from Los Pajaritos. Jagoba Arrasate's charges slowly but surely worked themselves back into the game and equalised through Alexander Callens's header off a Julio Alvarez assist. Manu del Moral went tantalisingly close to handing the hosts victory in the dying minutes with a free-kick that clattered off the woodwork.
Nastic 1-1 Levante UD
The Valencians failed to make it three wins from as many matches, but came away from their trip to the Nou Estadi with a valuable point that kept them right in the upper reaches of the table. Chema Rodriguez gave the away team the lead with a superb volley, but the Tarragona outfit secured themselves a share of the spoils thanks to Juan Muñiz's sensational free-kick.
RCD Mallorca 0-0 R. Oviedo
It was no surprise when this evenly matched encounter at the Iberostar Stadium finished with a stalemate. Fernando Vazquez and Fernando Hierro's sides nullified one another and the outcome was a pitched midfield battle that yielded precious few clear chances and no goals.
R. Zaragoza 1-0 SD Huesca
Jorge Casado's winner with two minutes remaining snatched victory and bragging rights for R. Zaragoza in the Aragonese derby against Huesca. The visitors' cause was hampered by the sending-off of Franck-Yves Bambock before the break and despite digging in manfully, they proved unable to hang on for a point. The win moved the home team to the top of the standings.
