RC Recreativo Huelva VS R. Sporting Gijón (12:00, Nuevo Colombino)
Recreativo and Sporting both go into this match looking to consolidate their positions near the top of La Liga Adelante. The outlook is positive for the Asturian side, who are virtually injury- and suspension-free. Aside from Hugo Fraile, who is injured, manager Abelardo has a full complement from which to choose.
Recreativo are looking for their third win in a row, and Llagostera want to stay well clear of the table's lower spots.
Trainer José Luis Oltra said this of his opponent: "They're a young side, they're dynamic and hard-working, and they don't allow you time on the ball. They're on a good run, and they're very well-drilled. They're all team players, and will be dangerous on the counterattack."
UE Llagostera VS RCD Mallorca (17:00, Nou Municipal)
Mallorca visit a side marking their first season in the competition. In spite of their recent 2-0 win against Alavés, the bermellones will be desperate for the three points so they can move out of their current second-to-bottom position. As for the Catalan side, they'll be looking to stay clear of the drop zone.
Valeri Karpin, the Mallorcans' coach, is well aware of what the club needs: "We're still way down in the table and have to get out of there. I'm expecting this to be a very aerial game, and I'll pick the team accordingly."
CD Leganés VS Real Betis (18.15, Municipal de Butarque)
Both Leganés and Betis come into this fixture hungry for victory. The Madrid side have never won this fixture except for in friendlies. But on this occasion both sides will be looking to defy the stats and make a break from recent results so they can begin climbing the table.
The Leganés coach Asier Garitano spoke of the importance of the encounter: "We're focussing on ourselves. If we waste time focussing on them, what colour shirt they wear, their fans, that would be that." For Betis, Damien Perquis is suspended and Cristiano Piccini is injured.
UD Las Palmas VS CD Numancia (19:00, Estado de Gran Canaria)
This is the second game in a week between Las Palmas and Numancia, the sides having met last Thursday in the Cup. The Sorian side have only had two victories all season and need to get back on track. But they're also facing one of the division's strongest sides.
Las Palmas and Numancia have a lot of familiar faces on their sides.
The rojillos could give a debut to Carlos Aranda, freshly signed from none other than Las Palmas. Trainer Paco Herrera, now in the dugout for the islanders, also trained Numancia for two seasons in the past, and has spoken of his "respect and affection" for his old side.
Barcelona B VS AD Alcorcón (21:00, Estadio Miniestadi)
Tenth meets eleventh in what is bound to be a gripping encounter. A win for the azulgranas would see them shake off their inconsistent form, whilst for the alfareros it would be their first ever win at the Miniestadi.
"Alcorcón have a good intensity about them," said Barcelona B coach Eusebio Sacristán. "The whole team works as a unit." Good news for the Catalans as their captain Sergio Juste returns after eight weeks out.
