Atletico Madrid 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur FC

A goal from Diego Godin sealed victory for Atletico Madrid in the opening game of their LaLiga World tour of Australia. The English side went on the attack in the early stages of the game and carved out several clear-cut chances to break the deadlock in Melbourne, but the Uruguayan's goal gave Atletico a first-half lead and saw Diego Simeone's men take control of the match. The LaLiga Santander team will end their tour of Australia against Melbourne Victory on Sunday.

Werder Bremen 0-1 R. Betis

R. Betis also kicked off their LaLiga World campaign in impressive fashion. Gustavo Poyet's men ran out 1-0 winners against Werder Bremen in their first game of the Dresden Cup, a tournament that is part of the LFP World Challenge project. Nahuel Leiva latched onto a through ball to score his second- half goal and win it for the Verdiblancos, who face Everton FC on Saturday at 13:30 in their final game of the tournament.

Fortuna Sittard 0-1 Malaga and German VDV 0-2 Malaga CF

Another LaLiga Santander side to record an impressive win this Friday were Malaga, who came out on top in two 45-minute games to claim glory in a three-team tournament staged in Holland. The Andalusians proved too strong for a side made up of unemployed German players and Dutch second division outfit, Fortuna Sittard. Jony was on target to ensure victory over the hosts, Fortuna, and following a 15-minute interval, Juande Ramos's troops saw off German VDV courtesy of goals from Pablo Fornals and Chory Castro.

NEC Nijmegen 0-2 Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad maintained their unbeaten pre-season run after victory over their Eredivisie opponents in Holland. A 34th-minute effort from Serbian centre-back Srdjan Babic put Eusebio Sacristan's side into the driving seat and Juanmi hit a second after the break to put the result beyond doubt, as the Basques overcame NEC on their own patch.

Lorca FC 1-4 UD Las Palmas

Quique Setien's Las Palmas side are beginning to look the real deal after registering a convincing win over Lorca in their second outing in the town of San Pedro del Pinatar. Goals from Angel Montoro, a Marko Livaja spot-kick and further strikes from Alfredo Ortuño and Momo secured the win for the Islanders, who this Saturday take part in a three-team tournament with FC Cartagena and Elche CF.

Racing Club Ferrol 0-2 RC Deportivo

After a clean sweep of victories for the LaLiga Santander outfits in Friday's action, Gaizka Garitano's Deportivo - the last of the teams to kick off - were keen not to let the side down. Fresh from their participation in the LaLiga World programme in Uruguay, the Galician outfit comfortably dispatched of Racing Club Ferrol in the 55th edition of the Trofeo Concepcion Arenal, with first-half strikes from Carles Gil and Oriol Riera enough to seal victory for Deportivo.
