Previously… Pedro José Lorenzo Galán (Torremejía, Badajoz, 1967) is an ex-footballer who marshalled the centre of midfield and spent the majority of his professional career at Extremadura CF, where he played for 18 seasons.
His achievements… He experienced a meteoric rise with Extremadura, climbing from the Third Division to the Liga BBVA in the space of only six years. He spent two seasons in the Spanish topflight, the 1996/97 and 1998/99 campaigns, playing 68 games and scoring twice. During his 18 years with the Almendralejo outfit, he made over 600 competitive appearances and scored 72 goals.
After hanging up his boots… He retired in 2010 at the age of 42 and turned his hand to management. He was member of the Arroyo CP technical staff during the club's promotion campaign to the Segunda División B in 2013 and currently holds the same position in Extremadura, who are in Group 14 of the Third Division.
Did you know?… He played in the Third Division, the Segunda B, the Liga Adelante and the Liga BBVA with Extremadura. His longevity made him stand out as a footballer, clocking up 24 seasons as a professional between 1985 and 2010.
