Previously… Guilherme de Cássio Alves (b. 1974, São Paulo, Brazil) was a Brazilian footballer who played as a forward and spent three seasons in Spain at Rayo Vallecano.

His achievements… In his first season in the Rayo Vallecano ranks, the Brazilian footballer achieved promotion to the Liga BBVA. In his debut campaign in Spanish football, the former player for legendary clubs such as Botafogo, Vasco de Gama, São Paulo and Gremio in Brazil scored 14 goals, featuring among the top seven goal scorers.

After hanging up his boots...  He had to retire very early due to the injuries that afflicted his career. However, after handing up his boots he moved into the dugout and managed several Brazilian clubs.

Did you know…? In his second season in Spain, when he scored ten goals, he featured in some important clashes, such as a 1-2 victory over Real Madrid (scoring both goals), which led to Jorge Valdano’s sacking as the Whites’ boss. The footballer has also admitted on more than one occasion that there were two clubs that defined his career, one of them being Vallecano.
