Villarreal CF and Valencia CF are two more Liga BBVA sides that have joined the LFP World Challenge Asia Tour. It is Liga de Fútbol Profesional initiative that is aimed at internationalising the brand 'Marca España', LFP the brand and the Liga BBVA.

Hong Kong, Changsha and Shanghai will be the cities that the Yellows will visit to play a triangular tournament with the best Asian teams in the region. Meanwhile, the side managed by Juan Antonio Pizzi will also leave on Saturday 24 May for Asia to take part in the LFP World Challenge. "For us it's very important to be present in Hong Kong and therefore in Asia, where there's an extraordinary amount of interest in football and where Valencia has a large following. We hope their presence will inspire us to continue our international expansion", said Amadeo Salvo, chairman of the Valencian club.
