The LaLiga Santander Experience just keeps on making dreams come true. The latest example came in A Coruña, where 12 LaLiga subscribers were treated to a weekend full of emotions, surprises and football.
The LaLiga Santander Experience offers fans of the Spanish game living thousands of kilometres away a golden ticket to see their idols in the flesh. On this occasion, the lucky supporters in question were winners of the contests held on social media by LaLiga's international broadcasters Eleven Sports Poland and beIN Sports Asia, which challenged entrants from Poland, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia to explain why they should be the ones to take part in this one-of-a-kind trip to Spain to watch a LaLiga Santander match.
The weekend was replete with special moments for the participants, from walking out on to the hallowed pitch at Riazor to touring the rest of the stadium – including going down into the dressing rooms – and, best of all, getting to feast their eyes on some of their favourite LaLiga stars at close quarters and lap up the action on the turf. They were even paid a visit by RC Deportivo legend Manuel Pablo, who presented them with a number of gifts and signed their Depor shirts, ensuring they went away with amazing memories as well as exclusive souvenirs.
The game itself saw Deportivo overcome Barcelona in one of the most exciting encounters at Riazor this season. When the final whistle sounded, the home crowd erupted with joy at a victory that will give the Galicians a massive morale boost ahead of the business end of the campaign. The LaLiga Santander Experience guests delighted in the best football competition on the planet and joined in the revelry.
As well as subscribers, the LaLiga Santander Experience expedition also included several reporters from the two broadcasters, who provided extensive coverage of the weekend's activities and enjoyed behind-the-scenes access. Indeed, after the match, the journalist representing Eleven Sports Poland got to interview Deportivo goalkeeper Przemyslaw Tyton, the only Polish player in LaLiga Santander at present. For their part, the reporters from beIN SPORTS Asia had the chance to chat with Joselu, the scorer of the game's opening goal, in the mixed zone.
This week sees the initiative return to the Vicente Calderon with a bang for what promises to be a blockbuster bout between two ambitious, high-flying sides: Atletico Madrid v Sevilla FC. Because the LaLiga Santander Experience dream machine is not done delivering yet, not by a long shot…
