She is the captain of the Spanish women's national team, a LaLiga ambassador and a veritable footballing globetrotter. Spain, the United States, Russia, Sweden and Germany have all had the pleasure of seeing Veronica Boquete strut her stuff on a regular basis, while France is her next destination.

Boquete arrived in Sweden in January 2012 and left in May 2014 on the back of a highly successful stint at Tyreso FF. Over the course of those two years, she won a Damallsvenskan title, was named the league's midfielder of the year once and, shortly prior to her departure, she became the first Spaniard to feature in a Women's Champions League final.

The LaLiga ambassador is therefore well placed to offer the Atletico Madrid Women's expedition some tips ahead of their stay on Swedish soil in the first edition of LaLiga Women.

What'll most surprise them about Sweden is… Stockholm. It's a different sort of city and it's stunning, it's one that never ceases to amaze.

The local delicacy that they simply have to try is… Kottbullar, the famous Swedish meatballs, served with mash and a lingonberry or cranberry sauce. They also can't leave without sampling some of the region's best smoked salmon (rokt lax).

Be wary of... Shopping. Sweden is dead expensive!

The women's game in Sweden is… More physical and direct.

Their first opponents, Linkopings Fotboll Club are… One of the top clubs in the country, it's a fine club and they have always shown a commitment to the women's game. What's more, they've got a fairly young team.

They'll have to keep close tabs on... Pernille Harder, the Danish star striker.

They mustn't forget to pack... A sleeping mask, there are just so many hours of daylight!

You can't leave Sweden without… Enjoying a good fika, the part of the day when the locals stop for a coffee and a slice of cake, a pastry or something else sweet. The Swedes have got some really great desserts, which are ideally suited for a mid-afternoon break.
