Team News:

- RCD Espanyol: Oscar Duarte and Marc Roca (both injured)

- Athletic Club: Ager Aketxe, Beñat and Mikel San Jose (all injured)

Match Facts:

Espanyol (12th, 11 pts)

- Quique Sanchez Flores's men have avoided defeat in their last four LaLiga Santander fixtures and last week's triumph against Real Betis took the early-season strugglers up to the heady heights of 12th.

- On the other hand, Sanchez Flores is still searching for his first victory in the RCDE Stadium dugout: his side have picked up three draws and two losses in front of their fans to date.

- If there is one team Espanyol will fancy their chances of ending this barren run against, it is Athletic. The Catalans are unbeaten in their last 18 games at home to Los Leones, which have brought them 13 wins and five draws. You have to go back to 1998 for the last time Athleticclaimed three points away to Los Pericos.

Athletic (7th, 16 pts)

- The Basques head into this one hovering on the fringes of the European places, having collected five wins, a draw and four losses in their 10 matches so far.

- Despite their poor record in their recent trips to Cornella and Montjuic, Athletic have the upper hand in the overall head-to-head. A total of 162 meetings between the clubs in the Spanish top flight have yielded 63 Espanyol victories, 30 draws and 69 wins for Los Leones.

- Ernesto Valverde's troops will be confident of getting on the scoresheet this Sunday, having netted in all five of their away encounters in LaLiga this term, although they only won two of the five, with the others ending in defeat.
