Real Valladolid and Real Betis Balompié meet on Saturday at 18:00 in the Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla on matchday eighteen of the Liga BBVA.
The team from Valladolid are currently in seventeenth place, level on 15 points with CA Osasuna, who currently mark the top limit of the relegation zone. The blanquivioletas are looking for the points needed for the peace of mind provided by the middle of the table. Their coach, Juan Ignacio Martínez, is well aware of the importance of the game and believes that a "change of attitude" is needed and that "to stay up we have to be strong in the Zorrilla". The coach from Alicante will have Valdet Rama at his disposal, but defenders Heinz Barmettler and Alcatraz and midfielders Patrick Ebert and Óscar González are doubtful.
Betis will be in a very similar frame of mind, the team is currently propping up the Liga BBVA table with ten points and will therefore be hoping for a return to winning ways. Its coach, Juan Carlos Garrido, believes that "three points would be an essential step towards staying up". For the match, Garrido will be without defender Damien Perquis, midfielders Xavi Torres, Nosa Igiebor and Álvaro Vadillo, and striker Braian Rodríguez.
