"It is an honour to have this new project entrusted in me and I am very proud". These were the words that opened Francisco Joaquín Pérez Rufete's presentation as the newgeneral sports managerof Valencia CF. Amadeo Salvo, who accompanied the club's ex-player at the event, stated that the change will give the organisationmore structure. "Rufete will be able to make decisions and the board, who are fully behind him, will take them into account and make their own decision from there".
Rufete also provided a diagram of the Valencian club's new organisation chart, and announced that the following new departments will begin operations very soon: the health department, which will include doctors and physios; the department of psychology, both for coaches and players; the methodology department and the player care department. All of them are aimed at improving output and operations in the Mestalla.
The new general sports manager said that the key to the club's perfect operation is in unity. "We must be united and look for good results as soon as possible. We are going to do everything possible to move forward and to make our fans proud, not of me, but of the people in the background and, above all, of their team", concluded Rufete.
