Valencia look to kick off the season in style at Mestalla

Valencia CF and UD Las Palmas go head to head in the final fixture of Matchday 1 in the 2016/17 LaLiga Santander season as both sides look to test their early form.

Valencia CF:

-Pako Ayestaran's pre-season ended with a record of four wins, a draw and two defeats, including an impressive win over Fiorentina.

-Valencia CF have won four of their last six LaLiga Santander games against UD Las Palmas, although the Canary Islanders took four out of six points last season with a draw at Mestalla and a 2-1 win at home in Gran Canaria.

UD Las Palmas:

-Las Palmas' pre-season did not get off to a very good start as the Canary Islanders lost two of their first three matches. However, as the new LaLiga Santander drew closer, Quique Setien's team's form improved and they went on to win three other matches and draw another.

-Las Palmas have only won three of their last 31 matches away to Valencia at Mestalla, although Quique Setien did win the only match between the two coaches last season.
