US university coaches witness Atletico and Rayo's training methods first-hand

A group of 15 US university coaches had the chance to witness first-hand the training methods of two LaLiga clubs: Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano. The visits took place on 8 and 9 December. Upon their arrival from the USA, the group of coaches visited Atletico's training facilities at Cerro del Espino. Dani Gonzalez, the club's academy coordinator, took charge of this first visit, which also included a chat by the club's methodology department. The visit concluded with a youth team and Under-19s training session.

The American university coaches spent their second day at Rayo Vallecano. First-team fitness coach, Victor Paredes, welcomed the coaches and gave them a tour of the club's training facilities. Gerard Nus, Rayo's assistant technical director, then gave a presentation about the club's internal structure and shared his experience as a football coach in the USA, where he managed Rayo Oklahoma City. To conclude their visit, the coaches were free to watch the first team, the youth team and the Under-19s whilst they trained.
