- Villarreal CF: Roberto Soldado and Bojan Jokic (both injured).
Match Facts:
Sporting (18th, 12 pts):
- The Asturians have emerged victorious just once in their last five outings and their need for points is now becoming rather desperate, as they bid to claw themselves out of the drop zone. Sporting's hopes of easing their relegation fears will depend largely on their form at El Molinon and a home win here would do wonders for confidence.
- The two sides have locked horns 10 times in LaLiga Santander. The hosts will be keen to improve on their record against the Castellon outfit, given that they've only managed two victories in these previous meetings, both of which came on home soil (D2, L6).
Villarreal (4th, 26 pts):
- The Yellow Submarine have enjoyed a fine first few months of the campaign, thanks, in no small part, to the form of Manu Trigueros, who has found the net three times this term, which represents his best-ever goals return in the top flight.
- The visitors head to Gijon bidding to cure the travel sickness which has plagued them all year. Indeed, after 15 matchdays, Villarreal have mustered just one victory on their travels (D4, L2), in what is their worst run of away form since the 2011/12 season, when they were still looking for a first win at this stage of the campaign.
