Time for one last push

Two sides whose form has been rather patchy of late go head-to-head at the RCDE Stadium as Espanyol host Sevilla. Both teams still have plenty to play for in what's proving to be a thrilling end to the season. Whilst the Catalans are fighting to stay up, the Andalusians are gunning for Europe.

Team News:

- RCD Espanyol: Felipe Caicedo and Abraham (both injured); Javi Lopez (suspended).

- Sevilla FC: Jose Antonio Reyes, Michael Krohn-Dehli, Marco Andreolli (all injured); Benoit Tremoulinas (doubtful).

Match Facts:

RCD Espanyol (15th, 37 pts):

- The Pericos currently lie five points above the drop zone, but with things being so tight at the bottom, this cushion may ultimately not prove to be enough. A win here would certainly see Constantin Galca's charges take a massive stride towards securing their league status.

- Espanyol have only managed to get the better of the Sevillians in five of their last 20 meetings on their own patch. That said, Unai Emery's troops have failed to record an away Liga BBVA win so far this term.

Sevilla FC (7th, 52 pts):

- Recent defeats have dented the Andalusians' chances of claiming the fourth-placed finish which would give them direct access to the Champions League. Sevilla need to put some points on the board to prevent themselves from falling further behind RC Celta in fifth and sixth-placed Athletic Club.

- This encounter is sandwiched between Sevilla's Europa League semi-final double header against Shakthar Donetsk. The first leg ended in a 2-2 stalemate and things are finely poised ahead of Thursday's second-leg showdown, which comes just four days after this game.
