The transfer window slammed shut at midnight on 30 January, however it was a month in which a number of Liga BBVA sides took advantage to strengthen their squads ahead of the second half of the season.
One of the most active clubs was Granada CF, who signed Emiliano Insúa, Rubén Pérez, Robert Ibáñez and Lass as they look to prepare for the battle that they have ahead in what remains of the season. Levante UD and RC Deportivo also had a busy window, with no side wanting to miss the opportunity to strengthen their ranks ahead of the business end of the season.
Córdoba CF waited until the last to bring in Bruno Zuculini, formerly of Valencia CF and current Manchester City CF youth player, in addition to Slovenian midfielder Rene Krhin from Inter Milan.
Among the standout names arriving was Fernando Torres, who returned to Atlético de Madrid, Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva, who signed for Real Madrid CF, taking the number 16 shirt, while Costa Rica's Joel Campbell has signed for Villarreal on loan from Arsenal, and Enzo Pérez has joined the ranks at Valencia CF.
With these reinforcements, the Liga de Fútbol Profesional (LFP) continues its growing list of stars who bring Spain's top division closer to all parts of the globe. Slovenia, Nigeria, Cape Verde, Belarus, Paraguay and Costa Rica will all be represented in Liga BBVA from today onwards, and in addition to the current stars they will help one of the world's best leagues to keep on growing.
