Elche CF host RC Deportivo on matchday 34 of the Liga BBVA, a game where the three points will be crucial in order to stay in top-flight competition for another year. Elche have taken six points from the last possible nine, while the Galician side travel to Elche having drawn their last game against Málaga CF.
Team news
For the home side, José Ángel Alonso will be the only player missing due to the injury to his left knee that he suffered during training. However, Elche will have Sergio Pelegrín available as he has recovered from injury problems. The Galician side will be without Cezary Wilk due to a fracture to his foot.
Thoughts from the dug out
The Elche coach, Fran Escribá did not hide the importance of the game in the press conference: "We have had this game highlighted on the calendar for a while. These are three key points for us". The Deportivo coach, Víctor Sánchez, outlined the fact that "Elche are a very well organised side who do not give away many chances with their defensive system". He also stated his side would try to take advantage of "the few defects Elche do have".
