In Eskilstuna the locals live and breathe women's football, with Eskilstuna United Women representing the city's leading side. Established in 2002, it has taken the club just 14 years to work its way up to the Swedish Women's First Division and become one of the top sides across Scandinavia.
Eskilstuna United play their home games at the Tunavallen stadium, a charming 7,800-capacity arena situated right in the heart of the city. The stadium's four corners are occupied by blocks of flats, which provide their occupiers with the perfect vantage point from which to enjoy all of the action from the comfort of their own homes.
The Women's First Division outfit - who currently lie third in the league table - boast a trophy cabinet which houses the Elittan title, a crown they claimed in 2013 in a season which saw them win the Swedish second tier to clinch promotion to the top flight.
