Historically speaking the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán has always been a tough ground for visiting teams. That has never more so been the case than right now, as the Andalusians have gone 25 straight games at home in the Liga BBVA without suffering a single defeat.

Barcelona were the last team to beat Sevilla in the Liga BBVA

The last time the Sánchez Pizjuán bore witness to a home defeat in the Liga BBVA was on 9 February 2014, when FC Barcelona came away with three points from the Andalusian capital after recording a 1-4 win. Ever since then, the Sevilla stadium has turned into an impenetrable fortress where no visiting side has managed to leave with anything more impressive than a draw.

The first team to come up against Sevilla on their unbeaten home run were Valencia CF, who had to settle for a scoreless draw on the banks of the Guadalquivir. The latest side denied a good result in the Sánchez Pizjuán were Rayo Vallecano, who were subjected to a 2-0 defeat there on matchday 33 of the Liga BBVA season.

Sevilla have picked up 61 of the last 75 Liga BBVA points up for grabs in the Sánchez Pizjuán

This incredible streak of results at home consists of 18 wins and 7 draws. In this time very few sides have managed to come away from the Sánchez Pizjuán with even a point: Valencia CF, on two occasions, Villarreal CF, UD Levante, SD Eibar, Atlético Madrid and FC Barcelona. Unai Emery’s men’s goal tally clearly demonstrates Sevilla’s superiority at home. The Andalusians have scored 54 times and only conceded 13 goals.

When taking other competitions into account, Sevilla FC have been unbeaten since 13 March 2014, when Real Betis recorded a 2-0 victory in the UEFA Europa League. Since losing to their local rivals, they have gone 34 competitive fixtures undefeated at home, registering 28 wins and only 2 draws, as well as scoring 78 goals and conceding just 18 in the process.
