Esteban Granero, central midfielder for Real Sociedad de Fútbol in Liga BBVA, went under the knife in Vitoria-Gasteiz and the Basque side have confirmed the operation was a success.
The player, who suffered a ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in September, underwent surgery on Friday “at the Arthroscopic Surgical Unit at the Quirón de Vitoria-Gasteiz Hospital, performed by Dr. Mikel Sánchez, and his team. Without incident, using tendons from the ischiotibial muscle, they created cartilage to regularise the meniscus. Esteban Granero will stay in hospital, and all being well will be able to leave in 48 hours”, said Real Sociedad on their official website. Next week Granero will start the recovery process at the Zubieta.
