- Born in Eibar in the Basque country, he came up through the ranks at SD Eibar before making the move to Real Sociedad in San Sebastian as a junior.
- Athletic Club spotted his potential when he was just 11 but his parents decided that he should continue his training at Eibar.
- His boots are a size 47.
- It only took him 10 appearances with Real Sociedad's reserves to secure himself a place in their first team.
- He was not initially expected to join the first team for this summer's pre-season but then coach David Moyes decided to call him up at the last minute.
- He made his debut on 25 October last year in the match between La Real and Levante UD at the Ciutat de Valencia stadium for Matchday 9 of the Liga BBVA.
- He studied for a degree in Business Administration and Management.
- He scored his first Liga BBVA goal on 8 February when Real Sociedad triumphed over RCD Espanyol.
- A week after scoring his first Liga BBVA goal, he bagged himself a brace at Anoeta against Granada CF.
- Currently not managed by an agent, his parents look after his career.
