Malaga CF, Real Sociedad, RCD Espanyol, Sevilla FC, Villarreal, Atletico, Barcelona and Real Madrid were the eight teams that advanced to the quarter-finals, in Sevilla's case keeping their supporters on tenterhooks in the process before eventually overcoming Valencia CF on penalties.

Fair play and teamwork were again on display in all the matches, which provided plenty of memorable moments for the colourful crowd, among whom a good mood reigned throughout as they belted out chants.

More fantastic fare was in store in the evening session, which determined the four semi-finalists. The third quarter-final clash saw Barcelona get the better of a battling Malaga, before Real Madrid beat Real Sociedad to complete the last-four lineup.
