Real Sporting de Gijón and FC Barcelona B kick off matchday 40 of the Liga Adelante with a thrilling game of emotion, rivalry and reunions in which Abelardo Fernández and Eusebio Sacristán, the two teams' managers, will be in opposing dugouts after playing together at FC Barcelona.
After an inconsistent run that seems to have ended, the Rojiblancos are aiming to keep earning points at El Molinón to stay in the fight for promotion to the Liga BBVA. The good news for Sporting is that, though they are without Stefan Šćepović, Álex Serrano, Santi Jara, Miguel Ángel Guerrero and Isma López, they can now call on Dejan Lekić and Alberto Lora.
They face a Barcelona B who are third in the table and, after giving Murcia a thumping, they have emerged as one of the strongest teams in the second half of the season. With very few absences and having lifted the Copa de Catalunya, the Azulgranas will be hopeful they can take the three points back to the Catalan capital.
