Real Betis managed to get a draw (1-1) against Villarreal CF in its return to Liga BBVA. Betis started losing after Roberto Soldado's goal for the visitors, but Ruben Castro appeared just in time to seal the equalizer in the last minute.

Intense start of the match

The first minutes of the match noted for its frenetic pace. Both, Betis and Villarreal, jumped onto the pitch with great intensity and both enjoyed chances to open the scoring in the first moments of the game. Léo Baptistão brushed the goal for Villarreal with a header after Samu Castillejo pass, while in Betis Cristiano Piccini was splendid, very active and sharp in attack.

Soldado's sweet debut

Roberto Soldado, back to LaLiga could not begin better his career as a player of the “Yellow Submarine". The striker from Valencia was on hand to break the deadlock after 32 minutes, after controlling the ball inside the box and beat Antonio Adam with a cross shot.

Bakambu's debut

Another of the new Villarreal signings, Cédric Bakambu, also played his first minutes with the yellow shirt. The young French striker replaced Leo Baptistão in the second half and had great chances to score, but failed to realize his attempts.

Samu Garcia could have the winner

Still with the lead, the yellow team had a golden chance to get the match on track. Samuel Garcia, one of the new Villarreal signings, had the 0-2 but he let it go by slamming his shot against the crossbar with Antonio Adam out of his goal.

Ruben Castro to the rescue

Betis never gave up and ended up finding his prize. Ruben Castro had to be, the hero of the promotion to Liga BBVA, who rescued a point for the Andalusians by taking advantage of a goalkeeper rejection.
