Team News:

- Villarreal CF: Alfred N'Diaye, Mateo Musacchio, Denis Cheryshev, Roberto Soldado, Samu Castillejo and Daniele Bonera (all injured).

Atletico Madrid: Filipe Luis, Augusto Fernandez and Alessio Cerci (all injured). Match Facts:

Villarreal (6th, 23 pts)

- The Yellow Submarine will be going all out in search of victory here, as they look to arrest their poor recent run of form. Fran Escriba's charges may have sealed their place in the last 32 of the Europa League, but the emphasis is now firmly on putting points on the board in LaLiga Santander, after having succumbed to two defeats and been held to a draw in their last three encounters.

- If he features in this game, Bruno Soriano will rack up his 260th appearance for the Castellon outfit, a tally which will see him overtake Marcos Senna (259) to become the club's highest league appearance-maker.

Atletico (5th, 25 pts)

- The Rojiblancos come into this one on the back of a goalless stalemate against RCD Espanyol and the Madrilenians are themselves going through a rocky patch, having picked up just seven of the last 15 points up for grabs. Diego Simeone's troops will be keen to turn the tide and get back on track at El Madrigal.

- Whilst Atleti's recent form may have aroused the odd doubt in some quarters, there can be no question marks surrounding just how pivotal Jan Oblak is to Atletico's chances, as highlighted by the fact that the Slovenian shotstopper has recorded no less than 21 clean sheets in the league throughout this calendar year.
