FSV Mainz 05 0-1 Sevilla FC
Jorge Sampaoli's Sevilla edged past Mainz to make it four pre-season wins from four and keep their winning run intact. After an evenly-contested opening 45 minutes, Sampaoli's charges got their noses in front courtesy of Sergio Escudero's 57th-minute strike. One goal ultimately turned out to be enough for the Andalusians to secure victory in Germany and seal a fourth win on the spin, following on from their successes against River Plate, Independiente Santa Fe and SV Sandhausen.
Real Madrid 1-3 Paris Saint-Germain
In their first pre-season outing, Zinedine Zidane's charges slipped to defeat against Unai Emery's Paris Saint-Germain. The French outfit broke the deadlock very early on when Jonathan Ikone slotted home with barely two minutes on the clock. The Parisians built on their early advantage through two Thomas Meunier strikes to establish a comfortable 3-0 lead. Despite Marcelo converting a spot-kick right on the stroke of half-time, Real Madrid failed to produce a comeback in a second half in which many of their young guns were handed the opportunity to shine. Next up for Zidane's troops are Chelsea on Saturday.
SD Eibar 3-1 Lekhwiya Sports Club
Eibar continued to fine-tune their game ahead of the new season with a convincing 3-1 friendly win over Qatari side Lekhwiya Sports Club in the Austrian town of Kossen. Unai Elguezabal headed Jose Luis Mendilibar's team ahead midway through the first half and Pere Milla doubled their lead after the break. Lekhwiya pulled a goal back, but Eibar immediately hit back with their third goal of the game, courtesy of Jordi Cala, to seal victory for the LaLiga Santander side in Austria.
UD Las Palmas 0-1 United Arab Emirates
After Monday's 1-0 away defeat to CD Tenerife, Las Palmas crashed to yet another pre-season reverse, this time to the United Arab Emirates in San Pedro del Pinatar. A solitary goal from Ali Mabkout on 27 minutes was enough to seal victory for the Middle Eastern team who are in Spain as part of their preparations for their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.
RC Celta 2-1 R. Valladolid CF
Following their participation in the LaLiga World programme, Celta returned to action with a 2-1 friendly win over LaLiga 1l2l3 side Valladolid in the Portuguese town of Melgaço. Jaime Mata gave Valladolid a first-half lead, but Celta hit back after the break. Theo Bongonda equalised early in the second half before Josep Señe's cross found its way into the back of Valladolid's net off one of their own players just minutes later.
Almere City FC 1-2 RCD Espanyol
Quique Sanchez Flores's Espanyol side are continuing their preparations for the new season in the Netherlands, where they beat Dutch second division side Almere City 2-1 thanks to goals from Leo Baptistao and Hernan Perez. The Brazilian opened the scoring on 7 minutes and, even though the home side found an equaliser, the Paraguayan sealed victory for the LaLiga Santander side in the second half.
