We are seeing the best of Sevilla FC. The side from Andalusia have recorded seven wins from their last eight games, statistics that have seen them show their credentials to finish in the UEFA Champions League places. Right now they are fifth with 53 points, only three behind Athletic Club in fourth.

There are many motives behind this improvement. Unai Emery's new style of play in which the phenomenal pairing of Carlos Bacca and Kevin Gamerio are reaping the rewards. The French forward scored twice in the 4-1 win over RCD Espanyol. It was his eighth goal since his side’s positive dynamic started, having started on the 23rd of February with a 0-1 win away to Rayo Vallecano.

An almost perfect March started a week after the brave win at Vallecas. Five consecutive wins against Real Sociedad de Fútbol, UD Almería, Real Valladolid CF, CA Osasuna and Real Madrid CF made for a change in trajectory that only came to an end at the end of the month with a defeat at RC Celta de Vigo.

It is a stumble that Emery's men recovered from emphatically with their 4-1 thumping of Espanyol. Five out of six victories in 30 days saw the coach named manager of the month in Liga BBVA. A subtle tactical change has transformed the side’s results, allowing the manager to take the award.

The momentum of Unai Emery’s side going into the final stretch of the season means that you wouldn't bet against them achieving what they want. They are also in the UEFA Europa League, although they suffered a 0-1 first leg defeat away to FC Porto, but with the second leg still to come at the Estadio Ramón Sácnhez-Pizjuán there is every possibility they could advance, and their recent form has given the fans every reason to believe in their side.

The side’s standout player not only in this run but all season is Ivan Rakitić. Born in Switzerland to Croatian parents, but Andalusian by adoption, it is the Croatia international’s third season at the club and he is a fundamental part of the Sevilla's central midfield. He is an outstanding play and is helping his side fly high. With him in their ranks Sevilla have every hope of registering a season full of success.
