Sevilla FC touched down in Florida last night to kick off their pre-season tour in Orlando as part of LaLiga World, a project which looks to expand Spanish football and showcase it to all corners of the globe. The Andalusian club is rather familiar with the programme, having participated in it in previous years.
After a long journey including a stopover in Germany, Sevilla's players and coaching staff landed at Orlando International Airport and are now enjoying their taste of American summer time. New coach Jorge Sampaoli's first two matches since taking over the reins will be on Saturday at 20:00 (local time) against Copa Libertadores holders River Plate and on Tuesday 19 at the same time against Copa Sudamericana winners Independiente Santa Fe.
The pre-season tour will serve as both preparation for the gruelling campaign that lies ahead and a platform for the new additions to the squad to settle in. Captain Coke stated: "This place and experience are unbeatable. It's very important to get Sevilla's name out there. On top of that, we're playing against two sides that will test us and will show us how we're adapting to the new coach's philosophy."
