Sevilla FC, national champion of LaLiga Promises

They beat FC Barcelona 2-1 in the grand final of the youth tournament held in Vila-Real.

After an intense match where both teams competed to their maximum level, Sevilla FC were proclaimed champions thanks to a goals from Juanlu in the first-half and Pancho after the break. Although FC Barcelona halved the deficit in the second-half through Pau Servat, the youths managed by Mario Garcia maintained their advantage until the final whistle.

Joy washed over the players and coaches of Sevilla, as well as the families of the players who had travelled to Vila-Real to support their boys. On the other hand, the Barcelona youths could not hold back the tears due to the defeat in a tournament in which they were defending champions having won the title last year.

In the moments before the final, the players acted like proper professionals, concentrated in their dressing rooms and proud to be the two best teams at this prestigious tournament. During the match, the football on show amazed the crowds that had come to watch close up, showing clearly once more the quality of the academies of the clubs in LaLiga.

Third and fourth place

The Valencia CF youths defeated by two goals to one Villarreal CF in the playoff for third and fourth place. Valencia’s goals through Andrés and Adrián were a work of art. Villarreal scored through Rodrigo.

The next challenge for the 6 participating teams in this national tournament will be in Barranquilla (Colombia) where FC Barcelona, Real Madrid CF, Club Atlético de Madrid, Valencia CF, Villarreal CF and Sevilla FC will play in the second international tournament of LaLiga Promises.
