Sevilla and Valencia need to bounce back in the second leg

Tonight's UEFA Europa League first leg ties left a bitter taste in the mouths of Sevilla and Valencia fans. The two Spanish teams lost their away fixtures to Porto and FC Basel and will have to make amends for their mistakes in the second leg if they want to reach the penultimate round of the continental competition.

The Andalusians lost 1-0 to a superior FC Porto side in the Estadio Do Dragão. A fantastic Eliaquim Mangala goal gave the Portuguese team - who struggled to towards the end of the encounter - the lead on the scoreboard. Unai Emery’s are still in with a chance of qualifying.

Things look far more difficult for Valencia, who lost 3-0 to FC Basel. The late reaction from Los Che, and a lack of creativity in front of goal, cost Juan Antonio Pizzi's men dearly, and they will have to pull off a heroic comeback if they are to be in with any chance of getting through the quarterfinal stage.
